SASE @ Clarkson - Professional Experience Workshop
On Nov. 6th, SASE @ Clarkson host an interactive workshop regarding to importance of professional experience in summer time. We engaged our membership in opportunities of research and corporate internships for their career exploration. Our upperclassmen showcased their experiences in summer opportunities and encouraged underclassmen to increase their career potential by putting something solid in their resume. It was great to hear questions and break perceptions from our membership! Thank you everyone for participating! We hope you learned lots!
SASE @ Clarkson - Potsdam Holiday Fund
Potsdam Holiday Fund is build on a foundation that serves families in need in Potsdam. Each year, Potsdam Holiday Fund provides 500 children with gifts, warm clothing, and delivered 300 food baskets to families and senior citizens. This year, SASE @ Clarkson participate in gift giving and supported 5 kids in the community with toys for Christmas! We were excited to be part of the campaign and bright families in our community.
SASE @ Clarkson 2012 - Destress Night
Before dead week, SASE have two destress event. We had a Ice Skating Night and Sports/video Night. It was so much fun to see lots of SASE members participating in our De-stress events! We did had a few first timers and pros for ice skating. We all laughed lots and enjoyed the night away! To wrap up the night, we provided Hot CoCo packs for everyone! As for Sports/Video Night, we had lots of fun de-stressing with team building games and video games. We competed with each other and at the end wrote encouragement notes to our peers. At the video game night, we had delicious snacks and got of taste of each others gaming skills. Not only did we had good laugh, we also had delicious Vietnamese Pudding Made by our lovely Activity Chair. We forgot to take pictures during video game fun. SASE @ Clarkson 2012 - TONY TUESDAY
SASE has suit up and joined Clarkson in their newly created event; Tony Tuesday! Tony Tuesday is our first fundraising event of the year with 16 SASE members going as a team, to compete and win the competition. The competition consist of a "cat walk" and a representative interview; we can join either as a team or as an individuals. It was tough, but we won $300. Sadly, it is far away from the first prize of $1000. However, we do not feel discourage by what happened at all. We have finally obtain our first profit of the year. We scream out to the school telling who we are:
"WE ARE...SASE!!!" *bow*
SASE @ Clarkson 2012 - A Walk for Education
On Nov. 3rd, SASE @ Clark participated in the A Walk for Education hosted by NSBE. We held signs to raise the awareness of higher education opportunity in our community. It was a chilly day, but we tough it out for education.
SASE @ Clarkson 2012 - North Country Science and Engineer Festival
On October 10th, SASE volunteered for the North Country Science and Engineering Festival, held at Clarkson University. We as a team built a Rube Goldberg machine that performed the simple task of raising the SASE Flag by using a complex method to perform it!
We used all recycle materials such as boxes, cups, bottles, and straws. It took us more than 12 hours to build this machine! But we learned a lot about combining designs and importance of communication!

SASE @ Clarkson 2012 - National Conference 2012, Baltimore
On October 11th, six SASE-Clarkson Chapter members traveled down to Baltimore, Maryland for the 2012 SASE National Conference. It was a phenomenal experience for us, since it was our first time attending National!
We were able to attend many leadership workshops, networking sessions, and career fair. It was an eye opening experience; we witnessed many Asian Professionals like us in the same place supporting the SASE Mission! We hope we can have you for the next conference!

SASE @ Clarkson 2012 - GE Energy Tour at Schenectady, New York
On October 2nd, SASE members traveled down to Schenectady, NY to visit rotor design engineers and had a full generator manufacturing tour! It was an eye opening event for many of us; understanding what engineers do to solve real world problems and to witness specific manufacturing processes of the gas turbine.

SASE @ Clarkson 2012 - Academia Night!
SASE hosted Academia Night on October 9th. This event was very unique. It allowed our members the opportunity to expand their network and get to know some of our professors. This event intended to inform us about the path of a PhD degree and the opportunities that come with it.
Many of our underclassmen have not thought about their plans after their undergraduate degree. They were able to ask many questions regarding to process of Doctoral degree and connect with professor's personal experience.

SASE @ Clarkson 2012 - GE Aviation and P&G Meet and Greet
On September 19th, SASE invited lead recruiters from GE Aviation and P&G to talk about skills of networking and professional branding in the corporation setting. Asun Sathyanathan is a full time recruiter for GE aviation and was graduated from Clarkson in '04. He is passionate about SASE mission and excited to meet our membership! Joy Lao from P&G talked about her personal experience as an intern and full time chemical engineer. She talked about why she loved P&G's working environment and how ownership is an important value for her in her work.

SASE @ Clarkson 2012 - Career Fair 101 with Clarkson Career Center
Did you know Career Fair is a great opportunity to network even through you may not need a co-op or internship? According to Jeffery Taylor, Director of Career Center at Clarkson, networking is essential for your professional growth and speaking skills. In this meeting, our eboard was very involve in their own skits of "Dress to impress", "How to approach the Recruiters", and "Tips on Interviews". We had alot of fun acting the don'ts and the do's for those preparation of Career Fair. We hope everyone learned new tips for Job hunting!!!!
